On Point Staging and Design is based in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Founded in 2022 by Akiko Honda, what started with a dream turned into a reality.
My mission and core values have remained constant since On Point was created; do what is best for my client. This vision is accomplished by transforming your spaces to create a home you’ll want to life forever in.
I want my clients to elevate the looks of their property, reflecting their style while being functional for their needs, allowing them to live with a complete peace of mind.
I’m Akiko, founder of On Point Staging and Design.
Born and raised in Mexico, I’ve always been passionate for creation. Being surrounded by a beautiful culture immersed in colors and textures, gave me my first approach to the world of design.
My passion started at young age - from rearranging my sisters’ rooms, painting walls at my parents’ home and accompanying my mother shopping for home decor. After years went by (and society kicked in), I started questioning my future.
I decided to apply my creativity in a challenging field: Biomedical Engineering. After graduating and working as a Project Manager for 7 years, I felt that I was contained, that this was not what I loved. Something was missing in my life.
I always say that everything happens for a reason, so one day my life made an 180 degree turn. My husband and I had the opportunity of moving to Michigan. At this moment my life “started all over again”, and I saw the opportunity of doing to something that I know I was passionate about. That’s when I decided to study Interior Design.
As a designer, I love bringing spaces to life and knowing that many families will be able to feel at home. I feel really happy and lucky to have found my way into something I love, where I can bring my knowledge and passion hands-on to create something beautiful.
